TRIPLE MOTION

Triple Motions is a series of sixteen welded steel sculptures that delve into the infinite possibilities within the simplest form: the circle. 

 

Each sculpture begins with three identical circles, uniform in size and shape, which are then manipulated into various unique configurations. These transformations highlight the endless potential of a shape that represents infinity, continuous motion, and never-ending movement. By exclusively centering my sculptures around the circle, I examine its expressive potential and my ability to intricately manipulate this form. This deliberate choice defines a cohesive visual language across my body of work. 

 

In this series, I explore the interplay of positive and negative space through my nuanced approach to wrapping space with metal. This dynamic dialogue between elements investigates material, process, and form.

 

Each sculpture is polished to bring out the natural silver inherent in the material. This consistent finish creates a distinct connection between all the sculptures. 

 

By transforming steel, a hard, heavy material, into sculptures that appear light and delicate, I aim to challenge perceptions of material and form. I invite viewers to reflect on the transformative power of shape and material, showcasing the endless possibilities that emerge from a single, simple form.
