I was commissioned to create a sculptural screen separator between the hostess stand and the main dining area for Gravity Tavern, a restaurant in Mill Valley, CA.
Ode to the Double Bow Knot is influenced by Mt. Tamalpais Gravity Car Railroad. The sculpture depicts the most famous and crookedest curve of the railroad, the Double Bow Knot. The horizon line across the top of the piece represents Mt. Tamalpais skyline which is replicated from early 1900's historic film footage.
